Craft Lab...the back story
For those of you that don’t know me, my name is Jo and I am the founder of Craft Lab Arts Social Enterprise. I believe everyone has a creative side and you don’t have to be “arty” to enjoy the release and feeling of well being that creative activities can bring.
I used to be a Primary Teacher but after having my son, Finlay I felt unable to get a work/life balance I wanted, I faced the dilemma of having 2 roles; mother and teacher and not having time to do either well! So for now I have decided to come away from teaching and put Finlay and my family first!
As some of you know I ran my own business doing kids arts and crafts through a franchise. I loved this experience and surprised myself in some of my achievements during this time. After running for nearly a year, I found the franchise not quite the type of business I wanted to be running.
Which brings me to now... I am currently on the School of Social Entrepreneurs business start up programme, which is helping launch Craft Lab; an arts and crafts company, which will bring art to everyone – that’s the goal! I’m really interested in developing some art therapy workshops and working with groups within the community to run these. I’m going to be doing other events, parties and workshops ….watch this space.
